A blast from the past! Weird Al Yankovic is playing tonight and tomorrow night at the Red Robinson Casino in Coquitlam. I haven’t heard about this guy in a while… but I’m sure it would be fun to hear some of his classics.
So weird he get’s two nights to perform… LOL.
Shows start at 8pm
Below is a video from his concert last night in Victoria BC
Hey all you Jack Johnson fans! Don’t forget that tonight he is playing UBC Thunderbird Stadium.
Tickets are still available at Ticketmaster

As many of you know I am in progress of my Masters of Digital Media. In the spring of 2008 the Masters of Digital Media Program and the UBC Fisheries Centre collaborated on a project to produce a virtual ocean.
The two teams got together to visualize and understand human impacts on fish populations. The MDM students were given access to live data of the fish populations off the Gulf of Mexico. They then moved forward and used the blender game engine to visualize the data. They modeled the ocean and then attatched live data to visually show what is happening in the oceans. This in my mind is ground-breaking, visualizing this data effects people more than just numbers and pie charts.

Using green screens in both real life and second life we can start to create videos using already created moving avatars from second life. We are able to put avatars in real life and real people in Second Life. The great thing about this is that we have full control of the avatars. There are no artists that are needed to animate. We are able to quickly put together videos.
